Key Responsibilities:

Buyer specializing in indirect sourcing in the airline industry. Primary responsibility will be to source and procure goods and services that are directly related to the core operations of the airline, such as office supplies, maintenance equipment, IT services, and other non-flight-related items. You will work closely with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of these goods and services.
Should have managed sourcing of Food items (Non Perishable) , well versed with Food regulations , storage guidelines issued by regulatory authorities.
Organize and share information regarding internal customer’s requirements to ensure that business units “indirect” procurement teams are aligned with Organization’s Indirect Procurement Strategy
Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and compliance.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as Marketing, Inflight, Catering, Fltops and Admin team to understand their procurement needs and requirements.
Evaluate supplier performance, resolve any issues or discrepancies, and drive continuous improvement in supplier performance and cost savings.
Monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and industry developments that may impact the sourcing and procurement of indirect goods and services.
Utilize procurement tools and systems to track and manage purchase orders, inventory levels, and supplier payments.
Support cross-functional teams in strategic sourcing initiatives and procurement projects to enhance operational efficiency and drive value for the airline.
Develop new vendors for products/categories in order to have better services /supplies etc.,
Conduct benchmarking and overall market assessment to support the development of the procurement strategy, aligned with customer’s requirements
Advise internal customers on procurement issues, providing support and guidance at all stages of the procurement cycle
Generate procurement reports from source systems (spend, transaction reports & MIS)
Execute the awarding procedures, such as requisitions and Purchasing Orders
Ensure vendor payments are made on time, resolve issues if any with respect to the payment.
Responsible for procurement business system data input and integrity
Create/Modify & Administer Supplier Assessment, Qualification, and Certification Program documents

Qualifications:

Bachelor's and University Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business/Administration, Finance, Economics, Management
At least 7-10 years’ experience in Indirect buying environment in Aviation/ service Industry /Indirect sourcing function in any Industry.
Proficient in Microsoft applications and knowledge of Procurement tools. Hands on experience in ARIBA
E-Sourcing experience in SAP or other tools is preferred
Good Communication and negotiation skills
Must possess strong analytical skills in order to make decisions (often with limited data), and strong interpersonal skills to influence the decision-making of others
Must have strong team building, facilitation, organizational, planning and time management skills, and a proven results-orientation
Preferred certifications: APICS, CPM, CPIM, CPSM, C.P.M, CIPS etc
Ability to communicate effectively (both verbal and written) in English and Mandarin with team members, vendors and stakeholders,
