The Opportunity:
Under Sunwing Vacations, we are looking for a People & Culture Coordinator for an 18-month contract to join us in making vacation dreams come true. As the People & Culture Coordinator, you will support the Vacation and Airline Division and will be responsible for the effective service delivery and support of company culture initiatives. The position reports to the Business Partner, People & Culture and will be located in Toronto, ON.
What You’ll Do:
- Maintain, update/ respond to internal group inbox inquiries from employees/leaders
- Responsible for full-cycle onboarding of new employees, including welcome orientations, new hire documentation, and HRIS entries.
- Support P&C Business Partners in all administrative functions.
- Under the direction of the P&C Business Partner, prepare employee-required correspondence such as employment letters, offer letters, leave of absence letters, etc.
- Maintain strong company culture and ensure effective employee engagement/communication through the implementation of People & Culture Programs and initiatives.
- Assist in the implementation of P&C projects
- Provide support for P&C recordkeeping, filing, and tracking
- Support the P&C leadership team in promoting purpose and values
- Monitor legislative changes and review practices and recommend changes as required
- Participate in the development and maintenance of HR policies and procedures; provide interpretation as necessary; makes suggestions and recommendations for revisions
- Co-ordinate and manage terminations, ensuring Federal legislative requirements are met
- Work closely with the Payroll department on any payroll related issues and ensure a timely resolution
- Working closely with all Provincial disability management programs (WSIB, WCB, CSST)
- Actively participate in, develop and promote all health and safety initiatives
- Foster an open-door policy for employees
- Other duties as requested.
What You’ll Need:
- 2 years experience in Human Resources
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or post-graduate certificate
- Strong people skills with the ability to interact with employees at all levels
- Detail-oriented and held to the highest confidentiality standard
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong time management
- Solid organizational and planning skills
- CHRP/CHRL is an asset
