Job Summary
Reporting to the Corporate Tax Director (US/Canada), the Corporate Tax Manager will work on a variety of tax- related issues and compliance projects for multiple corporate entities within the company’s-controlled group. This professional will need to be curious and willing to expand their technical skills with the intent of developing themselves to take on additional responsibilities within the company and continue to grow their career.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates a willingness to learn and grow his or her technical expertise in tax matters.
- Assists with the preparation of the U.S. and Canadian income tax provisions in accordance with IAS 12, including ongoing updates of book-tax accounting differences, monthly accruals, and quarterly update of State and Provincial apportionment.
- Assists with the preparation of federal and state income tax returns, estimated tax payments, and extension requests.
- Participates in the preparation of Canadian income tax returns in conjunction with external accounting firms.
- Assists with the preparation of the company’s property tax and Commerce report filing responsibilities.
- Provides oversight and review of monthly tax reporting and submissions.
- Assists the Tax Director and Senior Tax Manager group with research and projects related to U.S state and local sales and use and federal and state income tax issues and transactions.
- Assist with the preparation of formal responses to tax audit requests and notices.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from a four-year university or college required.
- CPA is a plus
- Master’s Degree in Taxation preferred
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of tax experience, prefer a combination of public accounting and corporate tax experience.
- Experience with ASC 740 or IAS 12 deferred tax accounting required.
- Tax managerial experience is required.
Technical Skills: (Certification, Licenses, and Registration)
- Strong background in US and State corporate income tax issues.
- Good understanding of income tax accounting principles, including ASC 740 or IAS 12.
- Proficient with tax research software (RIA preferred).
- Good organizational and supervisory skills.
- SAP experience a plus.
- Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
- Dedication and an exceptional work ethic.
- Ability to manage a team and provide exceptional service in a complex and fast paced operations environment.
- Strong relationship building skills with both internal and external customers.
Language / Communication Skills:
- Ability to communicate well with internal and external customers verbally and in writing

Work Environment / Requirements of the Job:
- Must possess strong financial and analytical skills including experience creating complex financial models and efficiently communicating results through the use of supporting tables, graphs, and presentation quality materials.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, solve problems, make recommendations, and draw valid conclusions in a timely and accurate manner.
- Must be able to effectively and professionally communicate with management and staff.
- Must demonstrate sound judgment and reasoning skills.
- Ability to prioritize and successfully manage multiple projects/deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong PC skills including MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint required.
- Experience with Hyperion Financial Management and SAP Business Warehouse preferred.
