The Specialist - Marketing Campaign Developer will primarily support the marketing email channel. Marketing emails will range form solo deployments to developing complex triggered emails and journeys. Additional responsibilities will be to support SMS and push campaigns. Troubleshooting skills are imperative to success in this role supporting marketing campaigns for United Airlines/MileagePlus and our travel media network, Kinective Media.
Key Responsibilities
- Email campaign development. Code, produce, test and deploy email campaigns through United's email services platform in support of all Targeted Marketing initiatives.
- Execute SMS and push marketing campaigns
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the Airline, Loyalty, and Kinective Media teams to achieve marketing goals and continually improve communication content, delivery and conversion rates.
- Drive innovation through technology. Leverage API's and marketing optimization software, including Movable Ink, to enhance United's communications portfolio.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal clients. Communicate openly and proactively on project status, recommendations, challenges and opportunities to improve processes.
- Act as a team player. Share knowledge among the campaign operations team. Be willing and able to assist other team members on their campaigns when necessary.
NOTE: This position provides a hybrid work arrangement including approximately 50% of the time spent working onsite at our Chicago office location and 50% remotely.

What’s Needed To Succeed (Minimum Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business or Information Technology related field or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of relevant work experience including 2 years of HTML and CSS coding experience
- Experience working with a major Email Service Provider (Responsys, Adobe Marketing Cloud, SalesForce, etc.).
- Experience building triggered, transactional or programmatic email campaigns.
- Proficient with cross-platform email techniques for major email clients such as Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, and Apple Mail, etc
- Understanding of all major web browsers and the special considerations required for their various quirks.
- Must be authorized to work in the US for any employer without visa sponsorship
What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):
- Salesforce Certified Marketing Cloud Email Specialist
- SalesForce Marketing Cloud experience strongly preferred
- Experience with APIs
- Movable Ink platform experience
- SQL experience
- Designing and implementing A/B and multivariate and testing in email campaigns.
- Database marketer proficient with dynamic content, complex versioning, automation and multi-touch contact strategies.
