Team Member (General Machinist)
Full time (3-shift pattern)
Washington (United Kingdom), site-based role
We have an excellent opportunity to join us as a Team Member at our site in Washington.
In this role, you will be working on some of the best products in the aero engines industry. You will be responsible for delivering against weekly targets to meet customer requirements.
You will report to a Production Leader. This is an interesting opportunity to work in a busy, world-class engineering and manufacturing environment.
Here in Washington, we make high-precision discs that hold fan blades and turbine blades in place while powering Rolls-Royce engines, including the Trent XWB the world’s most efficient large engine in service today.

Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home, or another remote location. What you will be doing:
Working as part of a team, you will:
- Perform Manufacturing/Operational tasks consistent with the requirements of the team, statutory and company standards (such as Health, Safety, Environment, Rolls-Royce Quality Management and Production Systems). This includes the manufacture and assembly of components and sub-assemblies.
- Follow production plans in order to meet customer requirements.
- Participate in process improvement activities and compliance methodologies to satisfy customer needs and cost reduction targets.
- Participate in cost reduction/operational improvements to satisfy customer needs.
- Recognise and perform asset maintenance activities to ensure that equipment and facilities are safe and reliable to a high-performance standard.

For this role you will need to demonstrate understanding of the appliable health and safety standards and we are looking for someone who is/has:
- Completed an advanced modern engineering apprenticeship* and an NVQ/SVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
- Experience in one or more of the following processes:
Machining
Balance
De-burr
Broach
Abrasive Flow Machining (AFM)
Grind
- Willingness to learn and adapt across a range of product types, processes, machines, and technologies.
- Good process management skills and ability to comply with operating procedures.
- Ability to apply lessons learned to improvement activities.
- Experience of working in a team environment that requires effective relationship building and training of colleagues.
