Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Level 5 Systems Engineer with a specialization in enterprise networking to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing, testing, and maintaining our enterprise network infrastructure to support our customers complex military systems and ensure secure and reliable operations. This is a customer facing role where the applicant will be interfacing between the end customer, subcontractors and other L3Harris personnel on a regular basis resolving problems. You’ll get the opportunity to be working closely with end customers deploying a new system to configure their systems, be a technical expert fixing problems and supporting a variety of program testing milestones.
The role will start in Rochester, NY (~3 months) coming up to speed on the program and supporting the US team and then transition to Taiwan (~15 months) for a total 18 months. After this expat assignment the company will work through placement options in L3Harris.
Essential Functions:
- Deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN).
- Configure and install software, servers, routers, and other network devices.
- Monitor network performance and integrity, resolving issues as they arise.
- Automate network reporting tasks and monitor their effectiveness.
- Create, oversee, and test security measures (e.g., access authentication and disaster recovery).
- Work with End User to deploy and maintain VOIP telephony systems and legacy interfaces to existing systems
- Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity, and scalability.
- Maintain system applications such as Exchange, ActiveDirectory, and Confluence
- Maintain HyperVisor / Virtual Machine environments
- Excellent troubleshooting skills to be able to isolate problems and determine a solution. Ability to communicate customer and vendor situations effectively over e-mail, voice and video calls to other team members.
- Communicate directly with customers and vendors to understand their needs and work to address them.
- Maintain complete technical documentation.
- Proper handling of information that is subject to ITAR, EAR, or CUI regulations
- Reliable with the ability to work independently.
- Travel to customer and partner locations within Taiwan in support of program activities. Could be up to 50% travel.
- Willingness to relocate to Rochester, NY and Taipei,Taiwan. Be able to adapt to local cultures and practices in Taiwan.
- Fluency in English required; proficiency in Mandarin is a plus.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Professional network certification(s) (e.g., CCNP, CCIE)
- Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
- Solid background in network administration and architecture.
- In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF).
- Experience with analog, digital and IP telephony systems.
- Familiarity with access control models and network security.
- Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools (e.g., SolarWinds network tools).
- Organizational and mentoring skills.
- Understanding and hands on experience with hypervisors, Windows Server, DNS, Encryption, DHCP, NTP, VLANS, VOIP (CME), Telephony, Video, File Storage.
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Vermont, Washington State and New York State is $106,500 - $197,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
