What Will You Be Doing?
Flight Operations Sr. Manager, Technical Programs is responsible for ensuring the successful implementation and maintenance of our Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) program, as well as overseeing other important technical initiatives within our airline. This role demands a highly skilled, results-oriented individual who can provide leadership and direction to the EFB program team and work collaboratively with cross-functional departments.
Essential Functions
- Lead and manage the EFB program, ensuring the efficient deployment and maintenance of electronic flight bags across the airline's fleet.
- Define and execute the strategic roadmap for the EFB program, aligning it with the airline's objectives and industry best practices.
- Member of the Flight Standards Board (FSB).
- Acts as a liaison to the FAA for all EFB procedural and technical issues.
- Interfaces with Maintenance on all EFB technical issues.
- Evaluates, modifies, and maintains, as applicable, EFB Program manual and advises on other affected manuals
- Provides technical support for the EFB program, including evaluation of new and upgraded software.
- Provides recommendations to the Flight Operations team for the adoption and use of software and hardware upgrades.
- Responds to Incident Reports involving EFB-related issues.
- Coordinates with other department to ensure the safe, professional, and efficient operation of the A320 aircraft fleet.
- Works with Sr. Manager, Airbus Programs and Airbus Industries on Airbus operational and technical issues as they relate to aircraft connectivity and communications.
- Aids in the Development of a technology road map for satellite/ground based/HF communication and data transfer as it relates to the EFB and flight deck connectivity.
- Develops a program for the implementation and uses cases of an Aircraft Interface Device (AID).
- Develops and maintains a robust iOS and App upgrade validation methodology.
- Point of contact for any EFB Applications.
- Point of contact for all EFB hardware vendors.
- Maintains provisioning of Company-owned EFBs.
- Responsible for MDM management and validation.
- Coordinates with IT on all issues, upgrades, and adjustments that effect Flight operations.
- Evaluates and develops EFB and aircraft-based communication operational procedures and standards.
- Coordinates with other airlines Technical Leads and FAA on regulatory and operational issues related to EFB and Aircraft Connectivity.
- Attends and presents at industry conferences related to EFB and Aircraft Connectivity.
Other Functions
- Build and manage a high-performing team responsible for EFB deployment, support, and ongoing optimization.
- Provide mentoring and professional development opportunities to team members, fostering their growth and enhancing their expertise.
- Work interdepartmentally on technology integrations for flight operations
- Aid in budget development for Flight Operations Technology and software
- Aid developers and vendors to Frontier in user interface and reporting capability for Flight Operations applications
- Aid internal Frontier IT in reporting and creation of technology tools that benefit Flight Operations
Qualifications
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S
- Ability to work nights and weekends.
- Ability to travel extensively.
- Experience with the development and management of 14 CFR 121 Air Carrier Programs.
- Previous Flight Operations technical experience.
- A320 Aircraft Type Rating.
- Airline Transport Pilot License.
- Experience in working with the FAA and other regulatory agencies.
- Extensive iOS, Android, and Software Application knowledge and experience.
- Extensive business software experience with the following: MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Project and PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat Document.
- Project Management experience.
- Must possess a working knowledge and understanding of FARs, Frontier Airlines manuals, and the Operations Specifications.
- Must hold an Airline Transport Pilot License with appropriate ratings.
- Extensive knowledge of IT security protocols and implementations across mobile computing solutions
- Extensive Knowledge in networking infrastructure
- Extensive Knowledge with user interface principles for mobile solutions
