Our Corporate Communications team brings our uniquely United story to life with the public, our customers and employees, across the world. From internal communications and newsletters to public and media relations campaigns, and social media strategy, we’re sharing our story with the world in a way that’s clear, consistent and inspiring. Key Responsibilities
The Specialist - Enterprise Communications supports the team's mission to create relatable, clear communications that bring to life our company strategy and cultural priorities for employees across the company. The role will partner with senior leaders and other Corporate Communications teams to deliver communications strategies that drive awareness, understanding and pride in who we are and what we stand for. The role will be a part of the team that delivers company news daily to our 100,000+ employees across the globe, with a goal to inform, educate and inspire – ultimately influencing how employees feel about working at United. This individual is a curious, creative problem solve, with a willingness to travel regularly to United locations as a roving reporter and to build relationships across the enterprise to unearth the best employee stories.
- Conduct interviews, research, seek out, pitch, and write stories
- Travel as a roving reporter for research, meetings, and events as necessary
- Contribute creative ideas and approaches to employee communications
- Provide engagement communications support to key projects impacting the business
- Work closely with fellow writers, designers, and photographers to ensure publishing deadlines are met
- Provide communications support for key subject matter experts

Qualifications
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, Communications, Marketing, or related field
- 2+ years of corporate communications or newsroom experience
- Demonstrated track record of managing successful, proactive, and creative communications campaigns that use a variety of tools, forums, and media
- 1+ years of writing experience
- Excellent communication skills, including both written and verbal
- Knowledge of AP style writing/editing
- Able to handle several projects at a time
- Able to work effectively & efficiently in cross-functional teams
- Proactive and well-organized
- Forward-thinking, diligent, creative, and curious
- Able to work under tight deadlines and with competing priorities
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time for story research and writing
- Supports a team providing 24/7 on-call coverage for operational communications needs; will need to be available to provide support and direction to team as needed
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):
- 1+ years in project management
- 1+ years of editing experience
- SiteCore and/or similar CMS
- Acrobat Creative Suite
- Data collection & analysis
The base pay range for this role is $64,885.00 to $88,440.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
