Johnson Service Group (JSG) is recruiting a
Senior Mechanical Designer for a 12-month contract in
Ogden, UT.This position supports their Sentinel Program, which aims to modernize the ground-based component of the U.S. nuclear deterrent triad, including intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) systems and launch infrastructure. This role is onsite and offers a W-2 hourly base rate, with overtime paid at time-and-a-half, as well as per diem and mobilization/demobilization assistance. Our client is targeting a base pay of $90.00 per hour for this position.
Due to the requirements of federal government contracts, candidates must have U.S. Citizenship. Candidates must have an active security clearance or the ability to obtain one. This position is expected to be 100% onsite, and per diem is available.
Education, Knowledge, and Experience Requirements:
- Requires a Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and a minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience or 9-14 years of relevant work experience.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office software.
- Prior experience with industry-wide design/drafting tools such as AutoCAD, Bentley MicroStation, PDS2D, PDS3D, Smartplant P&ID, and their component databases.
- Experience working in a project team environment to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Excellent oral and written communication, planning, and organizational skills.
- Experience in working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as ASME NQA-1, or AS9100D.
Major Responsibilities:
- Prepare 2-D CAD intelligent Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) based on sketches and marked-up prints.
- Review drawings and documents prepared by others to ensure incorporation of drafting standards, procedures, discipline standards, and other national standards, as required.
- Identify and recommend solutions to conflicts in the design and mark-ups.
- Mentor Mechanical designers and drafters by providing appropriate on-the-job training for their professional development
- Responsible for data integrity of the component list.
- Execute schedule requirements while maintaining a high degree of quality in work product.
Job Summary:
- In this role, you will participate in the design, development, and evaluation of mechanical components and processes.
- You will collaborate and support other engineering disciplines for mechanical matters. Your professional knowledge and abilities through the application of standard mechanical engineering techniques and criteria will enable you to make impactful contributions to the team.
