Johnson Service Group (JSG) is recruiting for a
Junior Mechanical Engineerfor a 12-month contract in
Ogden, UT.This position supports their Sentinel Program, which aims to modernize the ground-based component of the U.S. nuclear deterrent triad, including intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) systems and launch infrastructure. This role is onsite and offers a W-2 hourly base rate, with overtime paid at time-and-a-half, as well as per diem and mobilization/demobilization assistance. Our client is targeting a base pay of $60.00 per hour for this position.
Due to the requirements of federal government contracts, candidates must have U.S. Citizenship. Candidates must have an active security clearance or the ability to obtain one. This position is expected to be 100% onsite, and per diem is available.
Education, Knowledge, and Experience Requirements:
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Nuclear Engineering with 1-5 years of experience.
- Passed Engineering in Training/Fundamentals of Engineering Examination in the USA (Mechanical or related Engineering).
- Experience working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as AS9100.
- Basic knowledge of developing CSI Masterformat specifications, or Unified Facilities Guide Specifications using SpecsIntact
- Basic knowledge of mechanical system design, including sizing and equipment selection, piping and instrumentation diagrams, and requirements verification
Major Responsibilities:
- Participates in the design, development, modification, and evaluation of mechanical components and processes utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards, and guides.
- Compiles, adjusts, and correlates data that will develop professional work knowledge and abilities through the application of standard mechanical engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards, and guides.
- Provides input to and/or maintains technical logs and records.
- Coordinates work and collaborates with other engineering disciplines.
- Provides direct support to other engineering disciplines for mechanical-related matters.
- Coordinates the development and presentation of material when requested
- Prepares or assists in the preparation of conceptual studies, designs reports, or proposals
- Evaluates, selects, and applies standard mechanical engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications
- Provides technical assistance to other mechanical personnel and will interact with project functions, the customer, and regulatory agency personnel in the resolution of complex regulatory issues and industry codes and standards.
- Assists in project and construction management in identifying and complying with project mechanical requirements and in addressing issues as they arise during project execution
