Job Summary :
The Group M&A team at Swissport supports the company in all major inorganic growth initiatives like acquisitions, joint ventures, new market entries and partnerships, and works closely with the group executive board as well as hand in hand with the regional management teams around the world and global functional teams like legal, tax and treasury. The team’s mandate is global. Exposure to the Board of Directors and the shareholders is high. We are looking for an experienced M&A professional for our dynamic and high impact M&A team, who likes to work across time zones and thrives in a fast paced environment.
Job Responsibilities
· Leading M&A, carve-out and joint venture transactions globally end-to-end, in close collaboration with the Group Executive Management team, the regional management teams and global expert teams as well as external advisors;
· Identifying, screening and evaluating M&A opportunities globally in close collaboration with regional management teams, also probing them against Swissport's defined strategic framework;
· Advising and supporting the regional teams in developing robust investment and business cases and valuation models for M&A opportunities;
· Assessing the value creation potential of acquisition, divestiture, joint venture proposals, while actively liaising with the project workstreams including commercial, operations, HR, legal, tax and finance teams;
· Driving the overall assessment of potential M&A, carve-out and joint venture opportunities (e.g. commercial/operational attractiveness, strategic fit, valuation/return analysis, due diligence reviews) with the proactive and timely involvement of all relevant company stakeholders and functions;
· Actively participating in negotiations of transaction documents (non-binding offers, term sheets, SPA/APAs, SHAs etc.);
· Contributing to the continuous development of and applying the M&A toolbox as well as promoting the continuous learning of the organization in M&A-related matters;
· Actively participating in meetings to discuss the merits of M&A opportunities with the Group Executive Management team, shareholders and the Board of Directors;
· Tracking sector trends, valuation trends and developments around main competitors and priority acquisition targets;
· Contributing to the initial planning of post-merger integration (pre-Closing); and
· Developing and maintaining relationships with various groups of advisors such as Big4, Investment Banks, consulting firms etc.
Qualifications and Competencies
University degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree) in Economics, Business Administration, Finance or similar. Professional qualifications (e.g. CFA, CPA, ACA) are a plus;
· 8-10 years of experience in corporate development, M&A, strategy, advisory/investment banking or private equity environments. Experience in international, cross-border transactions;
· Deep knowledge and experience in cross-border M&A (buy-side, sell-side, carve-outs, partnerships, JVs, etc.);
· Proven track record in leading interdisciplinary and diverse project teams in different time zones, cultural contexts and business environments;
· Strong financial analysis and valuation skills;
· International work and university experiences are a plus;
· Work experience in transportation, logistics, aerospace or similar industries is a plus;
· Ability to demonstrate gravitas and high level of credibility. Ability to influence and gain 'buy in' from various senior stakeholders;
· Thrives under pressure while maintaining a high level of personal and professional integrity. Positive “can do” and entrepreneurial attitude;
· Highly reliable personality, self-starter, and hands-on working style; and
