Senior Officer, Import Breakdown
Report to
Assistant Manager, Import & Landside Operations
Position Summary
The position is responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of day-to-day operational functions in MABKargo, Import Breakdown. This includes monitoring operations, ensuring compliance with handling requirements and regulations, and meeting the customer service agreements.
Key Accountabilities
- To ensure all inbound and transit cargo are breakdown and properly handled in accordance with company standard operating procedures, achieve service standard and requirements.
- To ensure all inbound cargo is released to customers within the service standard.
- To maintain good rapport and close relationships with all customers, freight forwarders, shippers and customer Airlines.
- To prepare any performance, irregularity and discrepancy report when required.
- To monitor staff discipline and maintain industrial relations as per company’s rules and regulations.
- To monitor, compile and conduct quality check on staff and vendor job performance, work activities and reports and compliance to the Standard Operating Procedure set.
- To liaise and coordinate with other relevant departments on job matters and ensure smooth process chain.
- To ensure proper management of cargo handling activities and housekeeping at respective areas.
- To ensure meet the ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001 and ISO 18001 requirements and other regulatory requirements.
- To monitor pre-alerts shipments, sensitive shipments and other monitoring as assigned.
- To ensure compliance with security requirements at Import Breakdown.
Qualifications and Working Experience
- Minimum SPM/SPMV,DVM, Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Aviation Management, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., IATA Cargo Handling, Dangerous Goods Regulations, Air Cargo Security) are highly desirable.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in cargo operations, or air freight, preferably within an airport or logistics environment
Areas of Experience
- Experience supervising or coordinating a team in a warehouse or cargo handling environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with airline operations, IATA standards, and regulatory compliance requirements

- Willingness to work in shifts, including early mornings, late nights, or weekends, if required.
- Strong sense of accountability and integrity in handling sensitive or high-value cargo.
