Role Introduction
Reports to: Cargo Digital Manager, Transformation and System Planning
Drive the digital transformation of Cathay Cargo by analysing business needs, reviewing end‑to‑end processes and shaping how new technologies can create meaningful improvements. You evaluate emerging industry trends, develop potential use cases and guide teams through proof‑of‑technology work so that the organisation can make informed decisions about future solutions.
This position brings you deep into the operations of both Cargo Commercial and Cargo Service Delivery. You work directly with business units to understand pain points, collect and validate requirements, and help build business cases with Information Technology and Finance. From there, you manage or coordinate digital projects with cross‑functional teams, ensuring objectives, scope and governance are met.
Through this work, you create strong partnerships across Cargo, Digital, Digital Experience, Information Technology, GLS Hong Kong, Cathay Cargo Terminal and external handling agents. The impact is tangible: you help shape the systems and tools that support people across the cargo ecosystem and contribute to Cathay’s digital future.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor emerging technologies and industry digital trends, and identify potential applications and use cases for Cathay Cargo.
- Coordinate and lead proof‑of‑technology studies or explorations of new digital solutions.
- Facilitate the collection and validation of business requirements to ensure alignment with defined objectives and scope.
- Review end‑to‑end business processes to assess how new digital initiatives may affect operational workflows.
- Support the development of business cases for new projects in collaboration with business units, Information Technology and Finance.
- Manage or coordinate digital transformation projects, working closely with Information Technology project managers and project teams.
- Ensure project objectives, benefits and governance standards are met throughout delivery.
- Build and maintain effective communication and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including cargo teams, digital teams, terminals, customers and ground handling agents.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline is required.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Information Technology or digital; experience in the air cargo or logistics industry is a plus.
- Strong management background in driving user engagement and communication to improve internal working efficiency.
- Strong analytical, planning, problem‑solving and organising skills, with the ability to independently manage and prioritise multiple tasks within defined time constraints.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with people at all levels and from different cultural backgrounds.
- Good project management skills.
- Experience in Agile solution delivery is a plus.
- Good influencing skills and ability to promote collaboration among stakeholders.
- Good command of both spoken and written English.
- Experience working in a large, complex organisation.
