Role Introduction
This role is responsible for ensuring requirements are mapped and documented to functional and technical specifications for software development projects and enhancements through working with various internal and external stakeholders and leveraging external and internal resources to deliver quality and working software application(s) that is aligned with business vision and goal in the delivered software application.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse business requirements and document technical design and specification
- Participate in all aspects of solution design, implementation and support including Airline Operations Information Data Warehouse data modelling as primary focus; as well as Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) data integration as secondary focus
- When necessary develop solutions components using combination of AWS services including Redshift, DynamoDB, Lake Formation, Lambda, Glue, Step, SNS and CloudWatch
- Automate and integrate system data exchange through API
- Manage vendors and QA their deliverables in detail and ensure any defects and non-compliance in standards addressed promptly
- Work as part of project team to deliver solutions and potentially support all aspects of the delivery including analysis, implementation, configuration, testing, demonstration and service transition
- To collaborate with Enterprise Quality Governance team to ensure project testing meets the company practices and standards
- Collaborate with other IT teams to drive business and technology innovation
- Work under Scrum Agile development framework
- Keep abreast of the business strategy, business plan and latest industrial trends
E&A
- Emergency and Accident and Crisis Response responsibilities as required
Requirements
Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor degree or above, Masters preferred
Knowledge, Skills, Training And Experience
- Degree qualification in Information Technology related discipline
- At least 3 years of working experience in Big Data Engineering with scrum practices
- Essential to have strong understanding of Data Warehouse, Data Lakehouse and competence in SQL preferably AWS Redshift, LakeFormation, Glue
- Proficiency in Python, JSON, RESTful API and/or web services development
- Preferably experienced in ETL, Data Catalogue and BI tool development (asset curation, lineage, metadata and data quality management, ETL, cognos, alteryx, Qliksense, tableau etc.)
- Understanding of Cloud technologies, DevOps practices, Github, modern data pipeline frameworks (PySpark and EMR) and Generative AI/LLMs would be added advantage
- Experience in Unix/ Linux as well as AWS cloud platform is preferable
- Hands-on implementation experience in building real-time data ingestion and transformation workflows using modern streaming technologies is beneficial (Apache Kafka, AWS Kinesis)
- Good understanding of technology concepts, trends and capabilities
- Ability to listen and articulate ideas verbally and in written formats to a broad range of audiences; ability to ask probing questions and deliver presentations
- Strong interpersonal skills; promoting healthy relationships and team dynamics
- Well-developed analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, leveraging both logic and creativity; strong troubleshooting skills; ability to identify patterns and generate ideas
- Ability to complete milestones and work toward multiple deadlines simultaneously
- Proficient in both spoken and written English and Chinese
- Candidates with less experience may be considered as Solution Specialist.
