ResponsibilitiesThe Senior iOS Software Engineer leads the design, development, and support of the Spirit Airlines’ iOS mobile ecosystem. This role serves as a technical authority, ensuring the scalability and security of features powering booking, loyalty, and guest self-service. You will drive architectural decisions and partner with cross-functional leadership to deliver premium mobile solutions that redefine the guest experience.
- Contribute to the architecture, development, and maintenance of complex iOS applications using Swift.
- Define and enforce UI standards using UIKit and SwiftUI, ensuring strict adherence to Apple Human Interface Guidelines.
- Support junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, technical documentation, and pair programming.
- Contribute to technical strategy within Agile ceremonies, providing high-level effort estimations and risk assessments.
- Architect and optimize CI/CD pipelines to automate testing and streamline App Store delivery.
- Support production health by proactively monitoring performance and leading the resolution of complex production incidents.
- Establish best practices for security, modularity, accessibility, and long-term maintainability.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
4-6 years of experience in software engineering.
5+ years of dedicated iOS application development.
Proven track record of shipping and scaling high-traffic apps in the App Store.
- High level of proficiency in Swift and a deep understanding of the iOS SDK and Xcode.
- Deep expertise in Advanced Architectural Patterns (MVVM-C, VIPER, or Clean Architecture) and Combine/Async-Await.
- Experience with Modular Architecture and managing internal Swift Packages (SPM).
- Experience with REST/GraphQL integration and local data persistence.
- Strong influence in Automated Testing strategy (Unit, UI, and Snapshot testing).
- Mastery of Azure DevOps, Dynatrace, and Splunk; experience in high-transaction industries (Airline/Travel).
- Low Activity Lifting Requirements: Seldom lift up to 10 lbs, such as small office supplies or documents. Pushing/Pulling: Seldom pushing/pulling of light items within the workspace. Standing/Sitting Requirements: Primarily seated work, with occasional standing for brief tasks. Bending/Kneeling/Reaching: Occasional reaching within arm’s length to retrieve materials. Coordination: Basic manual coordination for standard office tasks (e.g., typing, using office equipment). Vision/Auditory Requirements: Clear vision for reading documents and screens; clear hearing for standard communication. Environmental Conditions: Indoor, climate-controlled environment.
