Job Summary:
The Certification Engineering Intern will support company strategic certification projects under the guidance of Certification Engineers. This role provides hands-on exposure to aerospace certification processes, technical documentation, and cross-functional engineering coordination. The intern will assist with structured tasks related to certification planning, documentation, testing support, and project tracking while developing practical engineering and business knowledge.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support certification engineers with administrative and technical documentation tasks
- Assist with gathering and organizing data for certification plans and reports
- Help review engineering requirements and document key inputs under supervision
- Support preparation of flammability test procedures and draft test reports
- Assist with tracking action items and following up with internal stakeholders
- Participate in problem solving discussions and take notes on assigned topics
- Help prepare documentation related to design change requests
- Organize and maintain certification files and supporting records
- Support risk tracking and issue documentation activities as directed
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other STEM discipline
- Minimum of two years of completed undergraduate coursework required
- Upper division engineering coursework preferred
- Coursework in materials, structures, systems engineering, testing, or related technical subjects preferred
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Strong technical writing skills demonstrated through coursework or academic projects
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
The compensation for this position will be $25.00-$26.00 per hour.
