The Transport Supervisor coordinates services between the kitchen and drivers, controlling activities on the dock and responsible for supervising Flight Checkers, Flight Coordinators, Drivers and Loaders. This position reports into the Transport Manager.
Your focus areas include:
- Oversees Drivers and Loaders, ensuring effective execution of their work schedules at individual and task level, leading and conduct briefings as and where necessary.
- Ensures dock departure times are met.
- Assures that the correct work instructions are available, followed and where necessary reiterated.
- Compliance with the regulations & procedures (Security, Safety etc).
- Supervises, mentors and oversees new and recurring employee training and signs off on remedial training.
- Participates in PRIDE/Squad.
- Resolves and/or escalates conflict issues, providing solutions and executing corrective actions when required.
- Co-ordinates and ensures investigations of incidents/accidents are carried out in accordance with local / company rules.
- Reviews pre trip truck inspections file and actions necessary items.
- Monitors airside activities to ensure compliance to the customers' flight schedules, local airport rules and national guidelines.
- Acts as a point of contact between Gate Gourmet airside operations and Airport / Customer Operations Teams.
We are interested in speaking with individuals who possess:
- Successful track record in a supervisory, operational role within aviation/inflight catering, manufacturing or logistics environment.
- A current MR or HR valid driver's license.
- Experience of working in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.
- Experience driving compliance in a heavily regulated environment.
- Use of a range of IT systems, planning technologies and solutions.
- Availability to work a 24/7-day roster across mornings, afternoon & evening shifts.
- Good communication skills.
- Current and full Australian working rights are required.
