The Opportunity
The
Warehouse and Logistics Manager is responsible for leading and managing a small team of Inventory and Supply Officers and Storepersons which manage Insitu Pacific's inventory holdings, receipt, dispatch and control of third party and customer property. As an expert practitioner, the Warehouse and Logistics Manager will also be required to contribute at the operational level and be hands-on with warehouse activities as required.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Inventory and Warehouse team, including supervision of day-to-day direction and the establishment and coordination of warehouse activities at Insitu Pacific sites.
- Provide key point of contact on internal forums and customer meetings related to warehousing and logistics matters
- Provide reporting to internal and external stakeholders
- Active participant in the alignment of the Contracts, Supplier Management, Transportation, Warehouse and Logistics Team's objectives to the Company strategic direction.
- Identification, development, implementation and improvements to tools, systems, processes, procedures, work instructions and templates (including MILIS or other customer ERP tool and Costpoint).
- Co-ordinating and delegation of tasking related to Inventory control, shipment of materiel (including dangerous goods and ITAR) and provide guidance on delivery problem resolution, receipt, material handling (manual and operation of load shifting equipment including, forklift truck), storage and packaging (including dangerous goods), compilation of deployment kits; tracking of assets; and disposal of materiel.
- Management and coordination of warehouse activities including: capacity management, stock categorisation, materiel data management, inventory identification and accountability, provision of reports, stocktaking (both Insitu and Customer owned stock), ensuring OH&S compliance.
- Monitor customer allocation and delivery timeframes.
- Management of tool control, calibration and compliance.
- Define performance metric requirements, perform trend analysis and take mitigating action to meet performance objectives.
- Analyse material location and initiate redistribution action.
- Management of obsolescence and maintenance requirements relating to stock.
- Establish and maintain additional warehouse sites or growth of sites to cater for business expansion.
- Ensure that Insitu Pacific's records and systems accurately reflect the status, disposition and condition of all parts in its care, custody or control.
- Coaching and developing Inventory Supply Officers and Storepersons.
Experience/Qualifications
Essential
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in warehouse and inventory management role and the Appropriate qualification or certification in an inventory or logistics discipline
- Experience in supervising and managing personnel, including tasking and performance management.
- Manage multiple tasks effectively while working to schedule commitments.
- Work accurately and unsupervised, to prioritise work as required and manage external/internal resources.
- Meet and adhere to critical deadlines.
- Strong computer literacy including proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
- Current manual driver licence.
- Possession of or ability to obtain licence or ticket in operation of forklift, order picker and similar.
Desirable
- Experience in the use of MILIS, inclusive of transactional experience.
- Experience in the use of normal Inventory Management or ERP tools ie. Costpoint, SAP etc.
- Experience in a relevant Defence logistics or inventory management role.
- Demonstrated skills in successfully negotiating contracts / subcontracts.

- Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements
- Able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance
