Role Introduction
The Assistant Manager Partnerships sit under the Customer Relationship and Retail department mainly responsible for managing and growing Cathay Holidays’ partnerships with hotels and travel providers, driving business development, negotiations, and contract management to strengthen the holiday product portfolio. You will be responsible for acting as a contact for partner engagement, independently managing complex discussions, issue resolution, and performance expectations
Key Responsibilities
- Lead partnership management, taking full accountability for the business relationship, commercial performance, and product portfolio across hotel and travel partners to deliver sustainable revenue growth and brand alignment
- Lead commercial negotiations with key partners, including contract terms, pricing structures, and partnership models, exercising independent commercial judgment to balance profitability, risk, and long‑term strategic value
- Lead partnership proposal development, supplier evaluation, and commercial assessments, making evidence‑based recommendations on partner selection, investment decisions, and portfolio optimisation
- Identify, evaluate, and develop new business opportunities, proactively expanding the partnership ecosystem to support Cathay Holidays’ growth, differentiation, and premium positioning
- Act as the key senior point of contact for partner engagement, independently managing complex discussions, issue resolution, and performance expectations without reliance on managerial escalation
- Monitor and govern partner performance against agreed commercial, operational, and service KPIs, taking decisive action to address underperformance, mitigate risks, and optimise outcomes
- Contribute materially to strategic partnership planning, advising the Manager on portfolio direction, market trends, partnership risks, and long‑term growth opportunities
- Lead the strategic projects to build synergies with cross business pillars within Cathay to explore new business opportunities
- Provide leadership, coaching, and capability development for Executives, setting clear expectations, building commercial acumen, and ensuring consistent standards in partnership management and execution
- Represent Cathay Holidays with authority in internal and external forums, influencing stakeholders and safeguarding Cathay’s commercial and brand interests in partner engagements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Tourism, or related field
- 5–7 years of experience in partnerships, business development, or travel industry
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills
- Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management abilities
- Commercial acumen with ability to identify growth opportunities
- Strong communication and presentation skills
