Role Description The Accountant (6 month contract) will support the finance function by managing day-to-day accounting activities and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. This is a contract role based in WP. Kuala Lumpur, offered on a hybrid working arrangement where some work from home is acceptable.
Key responsibilities include preparing journal entries, maintaining general ledger accounts, reconciling balance sheets, and assisting with month-end and year-end closing activities. The role will also involve processing invoices, handling accounts payable and receivable, supporting cash flow monitoring, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and relevant accounting standards.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in financial accounting and reporting, including general ledger maintenance, journal entry preparation, and balance sheet reconciliation.
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoice processing, and cash flow monitoring.
- Experience in using accounting or ERP software and MS Excel for data analysis and financial documentation.
- Knowledge of relevant accounting standards and basic understanding of tax and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in hybrid teams and engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Professional qualification or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; partially or fully certified (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA) is an advantage. Fresh graduates are encourage to apply.
