RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sets up and runs production machines. Performs machine operations (including reworking parts) such as cutting,shaping,deburring,forming,drilling,andreamingparts,wherethematerials,tooling,andsequence of operations have been pre‐planned and established. Makes necessary machine adjustments and reports improper functioning or cutting action for correction.
Performsoperationssuchastapping,spot‐facing,chamfering,countersinking,andcounterboringtoclose tolerances.
Alignsandfastenspartsusingstandardfixturesandestablishedmethods.
Adjustsfeeds,speeds,anddepthofcuttomachinequalityparts,perdocumentation.
Removesburrs,sharpedges,toolmarks,orotherirregularitiesfrommachinedparts.Burringoperations involve general production parts ranging from the simplest to the more complex.
Makes Basic to moderately complex setups, which may include multiple work piece stations, utilizing custom and standard holding devices.
Inspects finished parts for conformance to specifications by visual examination and utilizes precision measuring instruments such as gages, calipers, micrometers, comparators, and surface plate techniques. May be required to use coordinate measuring machine (CMM). Ensures equipment is calibrated in accordance with schedule.
Routinelymaintainsequipmenttoensurecleanliness,accuracy,andreliabilityspecifictodivision requirements.
Accuratelyandregularlyperformsallstatisticalprocesscontrol(SPC)specifictodivisionrequirements.
Activelyparticipatesinleaninitiativesbyidentifyingandprovidingsuggestionsonareasfor improvement. Applies lean concepts and tools in work area.
Observesallcompanypoliciesandprocedures,includingsafetyrules,andmaintainsacleanandorderly work area.
May work with various chemicals and epoxies as needed.

JobRequirements:
Must have high school diploma or equivalent. May require specialized certifications specific to division requirements (i.e. certified operator).
Twoyearsrelatedmachiningexperience.
Read, understands, and follows blueprints, complex drawing, engineering specifications, routings, inspection plans and informal written or verbal instructions.
Hasworkingknowledgeofmachineshopmathematics,mayincludetrigonometry.
Handles multiple tasks with changing priorities to meet customer demands.
Effectivelyappliesleaninitiatives.
May be required to work overtime both during the week and on the weekend.
Demonstrateseffectiveverbal,written,andinterpersonalcommunicationskills,aswellastheability to work in a team environment.
Interpretsreportsandusesjobspecificsoftwareapplications.Abletouseemployeeself‐servicesystems to access on‐line information and use specialized automated systems (i.e., PMR, TORS, e‐mail).

Whileperformingthedutiesofthisjob,theteammemberisrequiredtowalk,stand,andsitforextendedperiods of time. The team member is required to demonstrate manual dexterity and use hands to operate machinery.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to distinguish colors without assistance. Also expected of the team member is regular attendance,andtheabilitytoworkcooperativelyandprofessionallywithothers.Mayberequiredtoliftupto 50 lbs.
