Transportation Supervisor to join our
Inwood, NY team supporting the
JFK International Airport.
Key Responsibilities as a
Transportation Supervisor at dnata Catering, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient and timely transportation of meals and supplies to various airline clients. With a focus on logistics and coordination, you will ensure that our products are delivered to the correct destinations, adhering to strict schedules and safety regulations. Your role will involve managing a team of CDL drivers and driver helpers and ect., monitoring vehicle maintenance, and optimizing delivery routes for maximum efficiency. Additionally, you will collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage transportation movements between the facility and airfield according to requirements of the customer and operational needs.
- Ensure all catering is transported with adherence to all SOPs, safety guidelines and internal quality assurance programs.
- Manage a small group of dispatchers who are responsible for coordinating the movements of all trucks, checking, verifying, and advising of latest timings, delays and special operations notices.
- Maintain a fleet of catering trucks and vehicles for performance, appearance, and operational readiness.
- Manage the scheduling of drivers and dispatchers, ensuring correct coverage throughout a week including days off, minimum rest periods.
- Implement and maintain robust safety audit program, providing root cause analysis and corrective action plans for identified failures.

This salary range and is influenced by the level of experience. When calculating the base pay, we take into account various factors such as location, qualifications, training, and experience as part of the overall compensation package.
$63,000.00 - $77,000.
EDUCATION High School diploma or GED
Required with 2 years related experience and/or training.
QUALIFICATIONS
- CDL License Class A or B required.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Proficient in writing routine reports and correspondence.
- Effective verbal communication skills, able to speak before groups of customers or employees.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to follow instructions in various forms.
- Strong problem-solving skills in standardized situations.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Must be able to pass local/state passport authority and U.S. Customs & Border Protection background checks to obtain ID.
- Must be flexible with scheduling and willing to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Capable of working in inclement weather conditions (windy, rain, snow, excessive heat).
Intellectual/Social demands
While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is continuously asked to multi-task under time limits. Position requires constant attention to precise details and accuracy of specified standards including following simple to complex (more than 3 steps) instructions, and concentration which frequently extends beyond 30 minutes at a time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 30 pounds. Work environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to extreme cold/heat (weather), heights and loud noise (earplugs must be worn while on the Ramp)
