ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM
Are you passionate about leading teams and driving operational excellence? We are seeking a dynamic Senior General Manager to join our India office and be the vital link between our Delhi-based teams and the SITA’s Aircraft Business Leadership Team and People Managers.As the Local Leader, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of all cross-functional teams in Delhi, while fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.The Job title as per SITA career framework will be Senior Project Manager.
Reporting to the Head of SITA’s Aircraft Project Management Office you will interact with the various functions within SITA’s Aircraft business located in 20+ countries (Canada, United-States, France, Switzerland, Germany, Singapore, United Arab Emirates, Spain...).
WHAT YOU’LL DO
You will be the dotted line manager of 25 to 50 employees for which you will need to ensure that all aspects of People Management are executed smoothly, working with local People Managers and the HR Team, in line with the company culture and ways of working.That includes:
•Collaborating with the HR Team to address and resolve employee relations issues and ensure adherence to local labor laws and regulations.
•Collaborating with the SITA leadership in Delhi.
•Enforcing the office presence policy.
•Driving a qualitative onboarding process to welcome new hires.
•Providing guidance and mentorship to Managers and employees to foster professional growth and development.
•Implementing strategies to enhance employee engagement and reduce voluntary attrition.
•Working closely with the Leadership Team and Managers to align people management strategies with organizational goals.
•Serving as a local point of escalation for employees concerns and issues, after the Manager and local HR.
•Monitoring the quality and performance of the local team’s deliverables, ensuring they meet company standards and expectations, and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
After an initial ramp up phase your role will also include overseeing the performance of some local suppliers, in coordination with other teams, by:
•Conducting periodic performance review meetings with suppliers to discuss performance results, identifying issues, and areas for improvement.
•Identifying and assessing risks associated with suppliers and developing mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
•Ensuring suppliers adhere to regulatory and industry standards.
•Analyzing total cost of ownership (TCO) to optimize procurement and supplier-related costs.
•Negotiating better terms and seeking cost-saving opportunities.
•Benchmarking using insights to drive improvements and set higher standards.
ABOUT YOUR SKILLS
•Solid background in people management, with a history of successfully mentoring and developing employees.
•Seasoned management professional with 10 to 15+ years of experience, possessing a strong background in an appropriate industry such as IT, engineering, finance, or aviation sector.
•Deep understanding of the local work culture.
•Proven experience in international settings, showcasing adaptability and respect for diverse cultural perspectives.
•Ability to navigate and thrive in a technical environment, with an understanding of its unique dynamics.
•Strong business management skills to drive team performance and align with organizational goals.
•Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities to build and maintain relationships across all organizational levels.
•Expertise in addressing and resolving complex employee relations issues.
•Proficiency in enhancing employee engagement through innovative strategies.
•Familiarization of local labor laws and regulations.
•Ability to monitor, assess, and improve team performance and deliverables through constructive feedback.
•Fluency in verbal and written English.
•Experience in developing and maintaining strong supplier relationships, ensuring mutual goals are met.
•Proficiency in contract negotiation and management, securing favorable terms and conditions.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate supplier performance, implement improvements, and manage risks effectively.
