What’s the role on offer?
As
Flight Training Manager, you’ll take the lead in shaping and overseeing industry leading flight training programs. Reporting to the Manager Flight Training and Standards, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, compliance, and operational excellence.
Stepping in for the Manager Flight Training & Standards during their absence, you will be able to maintain both your currency and approvals, with approximately 20% of your time dedicated to flying or conducting simulator training. Your leadership will drive your team to uphold the highest standards of safety, training quality, and regulatory compliance.
In conjunction with the Manager Flight Training and Standards, the
Flight Training Manager is responsible for:
- Lead and manage flight training programs for Alliance Airlines’ Fokker and Embraer flight crews.
- Overseeing Line Training Captains, Type Rating Instructors, and Flight Crew Ground Instructors on both fleets.
- Develop and maintain effective training programs using our simulators and aircraft.
- Ensure compliance with CASA regulations and maintain accurate flight crew training records.
- Manage operational training policies, procedures, and systems for our Fokker and Embraer fleets.
- Recommend improvements to flight training standards and operational procedures.
- Ensure all instructors and trainers hold necessary qualifications for CASR Part 142 and CASR Part 61 activities.
- Promote safety, security, and OH&S compliance across all training and operational activities.
Who are we looking for?
You have a passion for aviation training, a strong command of regulatory frameworks, and the ability to inspire a team to perform at their best. With delegated authority, you’ll ensure your team is well-prepared to meet operational challenges safely and efficiently.
- A minimum of two years' experience as a Training or Check Captain with a Part 121 Air Transport Operator.
- Type-rated on F100, E190 or similar Part 121 Air Transport Category aircraft.
- Hold or have held, CASA Part 61 Instructor or Examiner Rating, Check Captain approval (121 Proficiency Check) or equivalent.
- Australian Air Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) and Instrument Rating IR (A) 2D/3D.
- Hold a valid Class 1 Medical Certificate (If required for operational flying)
- High level knowledge of flight training and checking programs, with expertise in the Alliance Airlines Training and Checking Manual
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and within close knit teams.
- Extensive experience in airline operations, aviation management, and as a Training and Check pilot.
