Reporting to the Manager, Planning & Performance, this position is responsible for the leadership, operationalization, implementation, and oversight of the Cabin Mobility team. This role encompasses the administration and regulatory compliance of electronic publications and other In-Flight Service (IFS) initiatives as required.
In addition, this role will work closely with the Digital Product and IT department to ensure the seamless integration and functionality of in-flight systems, manage the development of electronic manuals, and oversee the deployment of programs on devices used by Cabin Crew, Cabin Services, and IFS management teams.
This position may be located in Toronto or Montreal.
Responsabilities:
- Responsible for leading the Cabin Mobility team in the coordination, implementation and oversight of In-Flight systems and electronic publications, including accountability of the relevant business processes.
- Develop, implement, and oversee the Cabin Mobility Program and Cabin EFB (Electronic Flight Bag) at Air Canada and Air Canada Rouge.
- Lead current platforms improvement initiatives and promote a strong collaboration with existing technology partners in Training, Safety, Flight Operations, and other operational departments, to drive and enhance technology programs.
- Lead the timely escalation of technology issues by Cabin Mobility to IT, driving their resolution and identifying trends for improvements and reliability.
- Manage the IT projects for IFS by defining technology requirements, aligning activities with business objectives, and ensuring successful deployment.
- Oversee all IFS branch publications platforms, including ePub and ePub92, with full authority to make decisions, implement process changes, and delegate administrative responsibilities.
- Lead the development and implementation of all portable and installed programs on devices used by Cabin Crew, Cabin Services, and IFS management teams at Air Canada and Air Canada Rouge.
- Lead deployment strategies for Air Canada and Air Canada Rouge in terms of technology and Cabin Mobility.
- Provide strategic direction and support to IFS Bases, Cabin Crew, Cabin Services Stations, and Cabin groomers on matters relating to Electronic IFS Manuals and Cabin Mobility devices.
- Develop a roadmap for Power Apps by defining objectives, engaging stakeholders, overseeing deployment, and leading development projects for the branch as the Subject Matter Expert (SME).
- Collaborate with the Manager, IFS Business Intelligence for the IFS branch and its partners in terms of Power BI dashboard activities, including visualization, maintenance and reporting.
- Responsible for coaching and mentoring the Cabin Mobility team to deliver technical support to frontline employees and foster strong relationships with third-party IT support and the IFS Branch.
- Responsible for planning and forecasting technical support manpower for both Cabin Mobility and Publications.
- Provide support to the Manager, IFS Experience Initiatives in the Aircraft Program framework for the integration of Cabin Crew devices with new Aircraft Introductions and liaise with other departments as appropriate.
- Oversee the inventory management and deployment of devices such as iPads, Sim cards and point of sale for all IFS frontline employees.
- Assumes any responsibilities delegated by the Manager, IFS Planning & Performance as required.
Qualifications
- Post-graduate degree or equivalent in Business Administration with a focus on IT Management is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a similar position.
- Project Management Certificate (PMP) or equivalent practical experience is highly desirable.
- Expert proficiency in MS Office 365, including essential MS SharePoint skills. Experience with MS Power Apps and Power BI is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills.
- Previous experience with applications/devices deployment to large groups is preferred.
- True Context Forms/iAuditor experience is highly desirable.
- Knowledge and experience with MDMs such as SOTI and Intune are key assets.
- Maintain a sound working knowledge of Document Management systems such as Orlando, or equivalent.
- Previous experience within a unionized work environment is an asset.
- Expert knowledge of Air Canada In-Flight Service Standard Operating Procedures is considered a strong asset.
- Flight attendant Initial Training with Air Canada and experience as Cabin Crew in both domestic and international operations is desired.
- Must demonstrate significant expertise in relevant technical areas, proven interpersonal skills, written skills, and leadership capabilities.
