As a Sr Advanced Software Engineer here at Honeywell, you will provide Systems Engineering expertise to lead requirements, architecture, and advanced software development for Energy Management Systems, Battery Energy Storage Systems, Microgrid controls, and services enablement. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements, develop architectural designs, define the interfaces between Battery, Mechanical, Electrical, Controls and Safety systems and ensure the successful implementation of the overall solutions.
You will report directly to our Senior Engineering Manager, and you'll work out of our Fort Washington, PA location on a Hybrid work schedule.
In this role, you will have a significant impact. You will be responsible for exploring and guiding the team to develop solutions that meet the needs of our customers and align with industry best practice.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead requirements and architecture work for Energy Management Systems, Battery energy Storage Systems, Microgrid controls, and services enablement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and develop architectural designs.
- Design and develop advanced software solutions for Microgrid controls and Battery Energy Storage Systems, Microgrid controls, and services enablement.
- Ensure the successful implementation of software solutions, meeting customer needs and industry best practices.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in software engineering for Microgrid controls, Battery Energy Storage Systems, Microgrid controls, and services enablement.

YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or related roles.
- Have a good appreciation to industrial control systems & safety products.
- Strong expertise in Systems Engineering and extensive experience in multi-disciplinary systems development, encompassing Electrical, Power Electronics, Mechanical, Civil, Controls, Safety, Software, and Logic components. Be part of dynamic teams and effectively liaise with various functions.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java.
- Solid understanding of renewable energy and market trends.
WE VALUE
- Master’s degree in electrical engineering, software engineering or related field.
- Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging technologies in electrical engineering and software engineering for Energy Management Systems, Battery Energy Storage Systems and Microgrid controls.
- Hands on experience in installation & commissioning of large-scale systems. Exposure to Battery energy storage system, Li Ion batteries, Solar inverters, Power conversion systems will be added advantage.
- Knowledge of Alarms, Trend, History, Reports, and basic networking will be added advantage.
- Strong in Industrial communication protocols Modbus Serial, Modbus TCP, DNP3, MQTT.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
