As a
Planning & Allocations Officer, you’ll be responsible for implementing aircraft operating schedules and optimising fleet maintenance planning to meet both network and airworthiness requirements. You’ll assess aircraft maintenance needs, build compliant and efficient work packages, and ensure aircraft are positioned at the right ports to enable planned and unplanned engineering activity.
This role acts as the vital link between Event Planning and Duty Planning, ensuring longer-term maintenance strategies are effectively executed through the operational schedule. You’ll also actively manage unscheduled maintenance, major component changes, and airworthiness campaigns to maintain fleet flexibility and reliability.
You’ll Be Accountable For
- Assessing maintenance requirements and assembling efficient, compliant work packages
- Planning and monitoring scheduled and unscheduled maintenance in line with approved maintenance programs
- Coordinating aircraft allocations to maximise utilisation while meeting maintenance and operational needs
- Managing schedule changes and communicating impacts across ports and stakeholders
- Forecasting and tracking major component changes, modifications, service bulletins and airworthiness directives
- Working collaboratively across Engineering, Operations, Network Planning, Logistics and AMOs
- Using engineering and scheduling systems including TRAX and Amadeus Schedule Recovery (COMPASS)
- Being a visible safety leader, ensuring compliance with Qantas Group Safety Management Systems
What You’ll Bring
- Experience within a CAMO and/or AMO environment is highly desirable
- Aircraft trade qualification or tertiary qualification in engineering, technical, science or finance (preferred)
- Strong understanding of aircraft maintenance planning and operational constraints
- Advanced analytical capability, including strong Excel skills and experience with data tools (e.g. Power BI)
- Experience working with TRAX and/or similar maintenance planning systems
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication and negotiation skills
- A collaborative mindset with the confidence to influence outcomes in complex operational environments
- A strong commitment to safety, compliance and continuous improvement
