What's the Role About?
The Tax Specialist is responsible for preparing and filing tax returns, ensuring compliance with local and international tax regulations, and managing the company’s tax-related accounting matters. This role plays a critical part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting tax audits, and ensuring timely compliance with government requirements both in the Philippines and across global operations.
Major Responsibilities
- Prepare and file various Philippine tax returns, including:
- Income Tax (annual and quarterly)
- VAT returns (monthly and quarterly)
- Withholding taxes (Compensation, Expanded, Final, VAT & Percentage)
- Documentary Stamp Tax and Excise Tax returns
- Monthly and annual tax reports (e.g., MAP, SLSP, Alphalists)
- Handle preparation and submission of tax returns across multiple international jurisdictions, including but not limited to Australia, Canada, USA, Singapore, Japan, UK, and other regions, ensuring compliance with country-specific tax regulations.
- Manage BIR compliance requirements such as:
- Annual business registrations
- Registration of books of accounts and computerized accounting systems
- Prepare schedules and documentation required for tax assessments and Court of Tax Appeals cases.
- Analyze and monitor assigned balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and proper recording.
- Prepare journal vouchers, accruals, and adjusting entries based on financial analysis.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements, including participation in Safety Management and Security Management Systems.
- Perform other tax-related duties and special projects as assigned by the Tax Services Division Manager.
Who are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Strong knowledge of local and international tax regulations and compliance
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in English, both written and verbal
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
