Role Introduction
As a Product Owner Digital Product Owner, WeChat, you will work closely with product managers, engineering teams, and design partners to deliver digital experiences serving Cathay customers in the Chinese Mainland market.
You will play a critical role in translating product strategy into actionable delivery plans, ensuring that product features are delivered efficiently and meet user needs. The role will focus particularly on WeChat-based digital products, including Mini Programs and related ecosystem integrations.
You will work across Travel and Lifestyle experiences, ensuring that product features support a cohesive end-to-end customer journey for Chinese Mainland customers engaging with Cathay across booking, travel, and lifestyle services.
This role requires strong delivery ownership, collaboration with technical teams, and the ability to manage product backlogs and priorities to deliver high-quality digital experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Product Delivery & Backlog Management
- Translate product strategy into detailed product requirements and user stories for engineering teams.
- Maintain and prioritise the product backlog to ensure delivery aligns with product goals and business priorities.
- Work closely with engineering teams to ensure features are delivered efficiently and meet quality expectations.
Chinese Mainland Platform Product Execution
- Support the development and optimisation of WeChat Mini Programs and related Chinese Mainland digital platform integrations.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure product features integrate effectively within the Chinese Mainland ecosystem.
- Ensure product functionality aligns with platform requirements and regulatory considerations within the Chinese Mainland market.
Customer Experience Delivery
- Collaborate with product managers and design teams to implement cohesive customer journeys across Travel and Lifestyle services.
- Support the development of features that enhance booking, travel management, loyalty engagement, and lifestyle services within Chinese Mainland channels.
Product Validation & Insights
- Analyse product performance data and customer feedback to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support user testing and validation activities to ensure product features meet customer needs.
- Monitor feature performance and recommend enhancements based on user behaviour and insights.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with engineering, design, and business teams to deliver product functionality.
- Support stakeholder communication by providing updates on delivery progress and feature releases.
- Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement in delivery processes.
E&A
- Emergency and Accident and Crisis Response responsibilities as required
Requirements
Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Knowledge, Skills, Training And Experience
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
- Experience working with digital products in the Chinese Mainland market.
- Familiarity with WeChat ecosystem including Mini Programs and platform integrations.
- Experience working within agile product development environments.
- Strong collaboration skills working with engineering and design teams.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret product performance data.
- Understanding of user experience principles and digital product design.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Fluency in English and Mandarin preferred.
