About The Role
The Aviation Accounting Manager plays a critical role in overseeing the financial operations specific to the aviation sector within the aviation industry. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with aviation-related regulations, and effective management of accounting processes related to aircraft operations, maintenance, and logistics. Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience (preferably in the aviation industry) with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial regulations applicable to the transportation or aviation industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and audit processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation.
- Experience working within the aviation industry

Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all accounting functions related to aviation operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with federal aviation regulations and industry standards in all financial documentation and reporting.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements specific to aviation activities, identifying trends and variances.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team to enhance their skills and ensure accurate and timely financial processes.
- Coordinate with internal departments and external auditors to facilitate audits and resolve any accounting discrepancies.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures tailored to the aviation sector to improve efficiency and control.
