Our client is seeking a
Senior IT Project Manager to lead complex ERP, procurement, HRIS, budgeting, and forecasting system modernization initiatives while managing project delivery, governance, stakeholder engagement, risks, reporting, and executive-level decision support.
Must Have skills
- Senior-level IT project management experience coordinating and completing complex enterprise technology projects.
- Experience managing complex procurement system projects spanning contract-to-pay, procure-to-pay, and source-to-contract processes.
- Experience managing complex HRIS projects within public sector environments, including adherence to legislated policies and guidelines.
- Experience preparing briefing notes, executive project status reports, or similar materials for Executive Steering Committees or ministerial-level stakeholders.
- Ability to work with business and IT leadership to define project objectives, scope, assumptions, timelines, resource requirements, risks, benefits, and budgets.
- Experience supporting enterprise architecture alignment and delivering IT solutions that meet business requirements and maintain data integrity.
Nice to Have skills
- Experience with SAP or ERP modernization initiatives.
- Experience with 1GX or large-scale government ERP transformation environments.
- Experience supporting cross-ministry or enterprise-wide procurement capability implementations.
- Experience leading projects involving complex scheduling and pay interpretation solutions.
- Public sector project delivery experience.
- Change management and communications support experience.
Responsibilities
- Manage the coordination and completion of complex IT projects, including scope, timelines, deliverables, risks, issues, budgets, and resources.
- Oversee all aspects of assigned projects, including setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, maintaining meeting minutes, tracking risks, and summarizing progress.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with project team members, vendors, business clients, internal departments, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare project reports, briefing materials, and status updates for upper management, steering committees, and executive stakeholders.
- Facilitate executive decision-making by presenting evidence-based information, project options, risks, and recommendations.
- Compile project charters, project plans, and business plans to support project activities and ensure business objectives and data integrity are achieved.
- Manage projects that document business requirements and deliver IT solutions aligned with ministry and enterprise architecture standards.
- Provide recommendations on resource requirements, dependencies, interdependencies, policy implications, methodology, and delivery approach.
- Produce and package project deliverables for internal support teams, steering committees, and other stakeholders.
- Manage multiple projects, project resources, and project governance activities.
- Work with project sponsors to maintain effective communication throughout the project lifecycle and escalate risks as required.
- Manage peer-level client relationships, maintain client satisfaction, and resolve delivery hurdles to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Develop project organization structures with clear roles and responsibilities for stakeholders.
- Track and report project status against objectives, milestones, budget, resources, issues, and risks.
- Develop project schedules, estimate resource requirements, monitor work plans, and take corrective action to support timely completion of tasks.
- Provide guidance to project resources on work priorities and delivery expectations.
- Support project sponsors in assessing project outcomes and identifying improvement opportunities for future initiatives.
- Provide leadership and support to business and project teams requiring change management and communication assistance.
- Work within project management office standards and help define new standards where none exist.
