Role Introduction
Reports to: Head of Cargo Global Sales and Distribution
Drive the future of cargo distribution by managing the channels, platforms and programmes that connect customers with Cathay Cargo worldwide. You will take ownership of the end-to-end booking ecosystem, leading automated distribution initiatives across global regions while continually improving productivity, efficiency and commercial outcomes.
Working at the intersection of commercial strategy, customer experience and technology, you will oversee direct booking channels including EzyCargo and CXCargo.com, help expand distribution opportunities through third-party marketplaces, and guide the development of Click & Ship as a flagship booking management platform. Your work will involve close collaboration with regional teams, technology partners and commercial stakeholders to deliver measurable results and industry-leading customer experiences.
You will also represent Cathay Cargo in key International Air Transport Association (IATA) industry forums, benchmark emerging trends and technologies, and help shape the future direction of cargo distribution. Through your leadership, customers, regions and colleagues will benefit from smarter, more connected booking solutions that support Cathay’s global cargo ambitions.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute the omni-channel distribution strategy by implementing automated distribution initiatives and leading regional teams to achieve defined performance targets.
- Manage and support direct distribution channels, including EzyCargo and CXCargo.com, to deliver a high-quality booking and fulfilment experience.
- Expand Cathay’s distribution reach by evaluating and participating in third-party marketplace opportunities that support commercial objectives.
- Drive continuous enhancement of Click & Ship and develop it as a comprehensive cargo booking management platform.
- Benchmark industry developments and emerging technologies to guide the delivery of world-class cargo distribution solutions.
- Represent Cathay Cargo Distribution in International Air Transport Association (IATA) working groups, conferences and programme committees.
- Coordinate with technology and business stakeholders to prioritise Cargo Commercial information technology development projects.
- Support overseas stations and regional teams in developing local financial criteria for IATA Cargo Agency Program and Cargo Agency-Intermediary Program participation.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives that improve distribution efficiency, productivity and commercial performance globally.
- Build a high-performance team through active engagement, empowerment and people leadership.
Requirements
- University degree in Business or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience.
- At least 3 years of management experience.
- Demonstrated project management experience, including managing cross-departmental projects.
- Strong analytical and numerical capabilities.
- Sound business acumen with global insights into cargo markets.
- Strong cultural awareness and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse colleagues and clients.
- Strong implementation and execution capability with a focus on delivering results.
- Self-motivated, eager to learn, and willing to take on new initiatives.
- Ability to build a high-performance team through engagement and empowerment.
