About the Opportunity
We are an international leader in the set-up and delivery of Major Programmes. Our Major Programmes team are currently leading over 80 of the world’s largest and most complex infrastructure programmes. Our Europe team support clients and our colleagues across the water, transport, cities & places and energy sectors. The team comprises over 500 professionals spanning capabilities such as Programme Delivery, Project Controls, Programme Initiation and Advisory services, working closely with our Strategic Consulting teams and partners PA Consulting.
The Major Programmes team provides strategic advice and deliver to our clients capital expenditure across both private sector and government infrastructure major programmes. This covers all phases of the programme life cycle, informed by our operational knowledge and deep functional expertise. By integrating both strategic and technical expertise we serve the "whole client" from the executive leadership to those who procure, deliver projects and operations.
The purpose of the Project Manager role is to ensure effective management of client projects, ensuring they are delivered to the agreed time, budget, scope, and quality, in a safe manner.
* Responsible for leading successful delivery of each stage of the project lifecycle.
* Work as part of a larger ecosystem made up of a variety of stakeholders such as the Programme/Project Lead, quality assurance, specialist contributors, as well as client and end user representatives.
* Able to maintain and report on progress of projects and keep a live list of all the risks and issues that arise as the plan is being implemented.
Responsibilities and accountabilities:
* Ensure the successful co-ordination of all project elements
* Influence deliver the project aims.
* Prepared and implemented key project delivery strategies and plans
* Collaboration with the Risk Manager, Project Team and Planner
* Proactively monitor and assess any change in scope and ensure the agreed change control process is followed.
* Maintain a log of lessons learnt throughout all stages of the project lifecycle.
* Ensure that the delivery and development of projects is compliant with processes and procedures.
* Communicate with statutory, legal, and local authorities, residents’ associations and contractors to maintain and promote a positive corporate image.
* Manage budget and deliverables and where required monitor and prepare reports.
* Take responsibility of your own and others’ health and safety by adopting and working to the Health and Safety principles.
* Act as a role model for vision and behaviours, working in ways that are aligned with Jacobs Ways of Working, as well as encouraging and supporting others to do so too.
* Experience in the management and delivery of a project of relevant size and complexity across the whole lifecycle
* Ability to manage multiple competing priorities, whilst facilitating the progress of the project.
* Ability to adapt to changing priorities to successfully enable delivery of project outcomes.
* Ability to leverage experience gained from other projects to improve plans, process, and practices. Excellent communication skills, with an ability
* to bring together relevant stakeholders when needed to assure the success of a project.
* Strong analytical skills, with an ability to produce reports as required by the Project Lead or other senior stakeholders.
* APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or PMI equivalent. PRINCE2 certification could be considered, coupled with relevant experience.
