What you can expect from this position:
The Program Manager, Corporate Initiatives is responsible for supporting the curation of external partnerships and stakeholder engagement programs, executive speaking opportunities, roundtables, and coalitions related to executing the GTAA’s corporate strategy and business objectives, including a focus on CEO and Executive Team speaking engagements and earned opportunities.
As Program Manager, Corporate Initiatives, you will:
- Triage and prioritize speaking engagement requests for the CEO and Executive Team, making informed recommendations about executive participation, and providing end-to-end support to ensure speaking engagements are performed successfully
- Act as an integrator for CEO and executive team, working with senior communication partners, communication channel owners and subject matter experts
- Partner and lead the sourcing and development of communications content for the CEO across a variety of channels including issues and leadership notes, presentations, videos, social media, external conferences, etc.
- Foster new and innovative ways to share information about corporate advancements, plans and initiatives
- Lead CEO’s social media strategy and public brand supporting measurement and impact assessments on CEO communication programs
- Identify and report on key performance indicators on an ongoing and as-needed basis to ensure continued alignment to strategy and objectives
- Coordinate with Corporate Marketing to produce video and visual aspects in support of CEO presentations and appearances
- Work collaboratively with members of the Communications Leadership Team, and the Executive Team on policy, projects and contentious or emerging issues; provides subject matter expertise and advice to assist with planning to ensure successful outcomes.
- Ensure CEO events are leveraged across all audiences internally and externally to build brand awareness, improve reputation and engage employees and key external stakeholders.
- Handle complex situations and multiple responsibilities independently to support the CEO agenda; identifies emerging issues and urgency of immediate demands; mediates and resolves conflicts associated with issues, ongoing work, and between competing projects.
- Oversee the CEO events/”look-ahead” calendar as well as the approvals process ensuring prompt approvals on communication activities
The salary for this non-unionized position is competitive based on the successful candidate’s qualifications.
This is the role for you, if you have:
- Post-secondary degree in Communications, or Public Relations
- 3 years of public relations, communications, executive or political staff work, managing multiple priorities and changing deadlines
- Demonstrated experience with producing speeches, briefing documents and presentation for senior leaders
- Accreditation with the International Association of Business Communicators preferred
- Ability to obtain and retain Transportation Security Clearance at the designated level for the position
Knowledge and skills you bring, that set-you up for success:
- Exceptional English written skills with additional French comprehension – ability to research and distill complex content into concise and compelling formats for a variety of media, ranging from social media and internal communications to conference speeches and white papers.
- Shown ability to build integrated communications plans that align resources and improve impact
- Extraordinary listening skills and ability to synthesize information and develop appropriate actions
- Strong collaboration and relationship management skills; ability to work with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that improve organizational effectiveness.
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization and external parties, and awareness of cultural differences essential.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and critically about complex issues
- Knowledge of the theory, principles, and practices of political science, communications and public relations
- MS Office, must be adept at PowerPoint
