Senior Executive, Accounting & Recon
Reports To
Manager, Accounting & Recon, FIN - Revenue Accounting
Role Purpose
Supervise and implement all aspects of revenue accounting & reconciliation processes in a timely manner in accordance with the agreed SLA
Key Accountability
Strategic: Identify and implement changes in processes to efficiency of accounting & reconciliation by adopting best practices.
Operational:
- Investigate and solve tasks raised by the system (e.g. missing accounting rules, etc.)
- Perform necessary account/report reconciliation with general ledger for companies within the Group
- Maintain accounting rules and chart of account
Operational:
- Generate operational and accounting reporting whenever required
- Supervise month/year end closure process
- Handle external audit process
- Validate tax remittance reports
Governance & Policies:Report any potentials risks and breach of compliance to appropriate supervisors
Ensure compliance to Service standards / SLAs to ensure appropriate service levels are maintained
Organisation & People: Act as a pro-active team member to ensure cordial work environment
Undertake additional responsibilities to support / replace other team member roles if required
Conduct trainings and mentor staff to ensure regular up skilling of staff at all levels
Qualification & Experience
Degree in Accounting/ Finance and/ or professional qualification (ACCA, ICAEW, CPA, MIA, etc.) with 2 years experience in Accounting and/ or Finance
Skills & Knowledge
- Technical :Possess in-depth understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Verse with ERP and other business / accounting tools
- Posses good knowledge of Word processing, spreadsheet and presentation tools (Word / Excel / Power point)
- Managerial: Understand his / her role in the team and how it impacts the overall outcome of the process
- Provide day to day guidance and help to executives in the team
- Industry Knowledge: Need Industry knowledge of aviation industry or knowledge of the job role
Key Challenges
- Complex tax authority rules, requirements for the reporting and payment of taxes.
- Understanding of how PSS Amadeus processes affects Revenue Accounting processing and accounting for the transactions.
