About the team you are joining
The Billing and Settlement Plan (BSP) has long been the backbone of agency–airline settlement, processing over USD 230 billion annually and serving as the industry’s most efficient and trusted payment channel. As the travel ecosystem evolves and new distribution and payment models emerge, the BSP is at a pivotal moment. Its share of global passenger sales is declining, signaling the need for a renewed strategic focus to protect its relevance and unlock new growth.
To address this inflection point, IATA is launching a BSP Growth Programme built around two pillars: (1) Retention and Growth of BSP Participation, and (2) Product Development and Innovation. This programme aims to strengthen BSP’s competitiveness, expand its value proposition, and secure sustainable long‑term SCU growth across all regions to reach 1 billion transactions by 2030.
Within this transformation, the Senior Manager, BSP Growth Operations will play a critical role in shaping and executing domestic BSP expansion, working closely with airlines, country managers, and local stakeholders to deliver successful market implementations. In parallel, the role will actively monitor BSP sales performance, identifying risks of declining SCU volumes among participating airlines and driving targeted actions to retain and recover volumes. The role will also focus on unlocking additional growth by identifying airlines with untapped BSP potential and supporting initiatives to increase their reported sales through BSP.
What your day would be like
- Monitor and analyze SCU performance across participating airlines, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for growth or recovery.
- Engage with airlines, with the collaboration of Regional and Local offices, to address declines in BSP-reported sales, developing and implementing actions to retain volumes and prevent further leakage.
- Identify airlines with underutilized BSP potential and drive initiatives to increase their participation and reported sales.
- Coordinate planning and execution of market engagement workshops with target airlines and local stakeholders, in close collaboration with Country Managers.
- Gather insights from market discussions to shape a tailored BSP value proposition for domestic flows.
- Develop market‑specific proposals outlining the technical, operational, and financial advantages of domestic BSP participation.
- Lead the end‑to‑end implementation of domestic BSP rollouts, ensuring alignment, readiness, and successful onboarding across all stakeholders.
- Collaborate with all program team members, as well as relevant departments within and beyond the P&S division, including support functions.
