Job Overview And Responsibilities
As a Sr. Manager – Strategy & Advanced Analytics, you will define and implement advanced analytics initiatives that drive incremental revenue, improve efficiency and/or customer happiness including big data, machine learning models, statistical models, optimization models, etc. Will be tasked with identifying and analyzing opportunities as well as handling the execution and delivery of projects. Will be working with and running internal and external partner teams both in the US and off-shore. This role will require critical thinking and strong customer focus. Will manage a team and be responsible for providing coaching, mentoring and development.
- Lead the development and implementation of projects that apply industrial engineering, operations research, statistical and machine learning techniques and involve team members across all data analytics areas, vendors and external partners to tackle critical business problems.
- Activities involve the development of models and analytical tools to provide decision making support for sophisticated technical functions and big data such as employee and aircraft scheduling, labor planning, inventory management, supply chain management, and real time asset deployment
- Engage with partner organizations and other team members to identify business value, drive consensus around project scope, value, delivery timelines, and follow-on work, if any
- Responsible for handling the work of a team of a few individuals who craft and/or implement mathematical models with an orientation to locating opportunity and delivering value
- Train, develop, and mentor analysts across the analytics team
- Own the development of the team by assuring a high level of technical skills and knowledge for one or more: optimization modeling tools (such as CPLEX, OPL etc.), or statistical modeling tools (such as SAS, R, etc.), or knowledge of ML/AI toolkits and associated programming (such as Python, etc.), or BI tools (such as Spotfire, Tableau, etc.)
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- BS in operations research, statistics, engineering, ops research, analytics or a related quantitative field
- 9+ years of shown experience
- Experienced in analyzing sophisticated, data from various sources to identify patterns and relationships
- Strong analytical ability, applies analytical and pro-active thinking to client agenda to ensure robust, appropriate, value client solutions
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
Preferred
- Master's degree
- Advanced degree (M.S., Ph.D., or equivalent)
- 5+ years of experience at successive levels of quantitative and analytical fields e.g. IE, OR, Statistics, ML/AI, financial modeling etc.
- 3+ years of airline business experience
- Knowledge/familiarity of using and/or driving work on Big Data ecosystems and database querying languages (SQL, Python, etc.)
- Knowledge and/or experience of one or more of: optimization modeling, or statistical modeling, or ML/AI
- Tableau – Spotfire experience
