And through valued customer feedback, optimized partnerships, and innovative sales strategies, Sales continues to be the largest revenue-generating department at United.
Key Responsibilities
The Manager, United for Business Product Development (Payments) manages the design of new B2B products and solutions for corporate customers and travel agency partners. This is heavily focused on form-of-payment products that improve customer travel transaction experience and lowers United’s average transaction costs, ranging from traditional credit cards, blockchain, and other emerging solutions to fit the payment needs of companies, travel agencies, and banks. The role involves extensive coordination with internal United collaborators (such as Finance) and management of external partner organizations (such as UATP) to develop and market products and solutions that are industry-leading and driven by customer insights. Part of the broader B2B product & marketing team, the role’s direct report(s) have direct day-to-day responsibilities over specific existing B2B products.
- Develop, monitor, and continuously optimize portfolio of payment solutions.
- Continuously collect sales or customer feedback to make technical enhancements, policy changes, or product additions.
- Design insights-gathering structure aimed at identifying specific customer segments interested in enterprise B2B solutions (such as payment products) to size/build business case and handle design.
- Lead B2B product and partnership relationship with Finance, Treasury Operations, Revenue Accounting, MileagePlus, Digital Sales, UATP, Sustainability, and others.
- Create and maintain dashboard showing quantitative progress against B2B product financial goals (such as form of payment reduction) and periodically report outcome to Commercial and Finance leadership.
- Lead direct report(s) to ensure existing B2B product suite (including existing payment products) is continuously optimized using product development process and collected insights.
NOTE: This position offers a hybrid work arrangement with in-office requirements 50% of the time in Chicago, IL. This role will also travel up to 10% of the time.

Qualifications
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree
- 4+ years’ experience in commercial, finance, product development, partnerships, or digital sales roles
- Organizational and project management skills, particularly in working both intra- and inter-departmentally
- Analytical capabilities, including basic understanding of data manipulation and management
- Customer focus: relativity and interest to test and develop new solutions to fit customer needs
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

- Master's degree
- Experience in working in payment strategy space
- SQL, VBA, or other database management skills
- Basic visual and graphic design skills
The salary for this position is $99,750 to $135,960, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This range is based on a full-time schedule. Bonus eligible: yes.
