As an
ORAT Operational Planning & Readiness Specialist, your role will be to drive operational readiness by mapping, improving, and implementing dnata operational processes for Al Maktoum International Airport (AMIA). Coordinate Operational Readiness, Activation, and Transition (ORAT) working groups, produce high quality technical documentation, and support the planning and execution of trials, training, and go-live activities. This role contributes to the department target of ensuring overall readiness of dnata's operations and infrastructure at AMIA.
In This Role, You Will
- Map current vs. future processes, define job roles, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and control points to ensure operational readiness and efficiency. Complete process maps, Standard Operating Instructions (SOPs), work instructions, and Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) ensuring they are aligned with dnata standards.
- Plan and lead cross-functional ORAT working groups, maintaining comprehensive Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies (RAID) logs and decision records in alignment with stakeholders. Establish clear KPIs and a structured reporting cadence, oversee risk registers, and drive timely issue resolution and effective risk mitigation. Deliver accurate, up-to-date dashboards to track progress, proactively manage risks, and ensure stakeholder satisfaction.
- Ensure operational readiness timelines are accurately captured, regularly updated, and effectively communicated to relevant stakeholders, aligned with the ORAT master schedule and delivered within agreed time and scope.
- Support design and execution of ORAT trials to validate operational readiness before go-live; track and close issues identified during trials before infrastructure opening.
- Coordinate training and communication plans within agreed timelines and scope to drive adoption of new CONOPS, processes, and systems.
- Support the development and management of operational requirements, review proposed facilities and operational concepts, and ensure operational needs are incorporated into future operating models and readiness plans.
Qualification
To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:
- 5+ years of working experience in an airport operations environemnt.
- Bachelor's degree in aviation management, or related. Relevant professional certifications are a plus.
You Will Have An Edge If You Have
- Experience in ORAT, or operational excellence; hands-on experience implementing new processes or systems.
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary stakeholders.
- Process modelling, SLA/KPI frameworks
- ORAT trial design and evaluation
- Strong technical writing (SOPs, CONOPS, Work Instructions)
- MS 365 tools, Visio, basic Power BI exposure
- Knowledge of project management principles and their application for everyday work
- Experience with data analytics and dashboarding skills; airport simulation tools
