The Role
The
Scheduling Manager is responsible for designing and developing easyJet’s future schedule with the aim to maximise profitability and deliver strategic initiatives whilst safeguarding resilience throughout the schedule cycle planning.
This is achieved via a team of Design analysts, lead planners and planners who assess, plan and deliver schedule scenarios according to the airline goals and priorities set by the AMB and the Scheduling Leadership Team.
You will pro-actively remove impediments, drive agility efficiencies through defined workstreams, whilst putting in place measures to address poor profitability or operational performance. You will also define and drive processes that deliver easyJet’s schedule design and development working with key partner functions ( Long-Term Operational Planning, Network, Commercial Teams, easyJet Holidays, and all other Schedule Planning and Slot ).
What You’ll Be Doing
- You will have direct accountability for designing and developing easyJet’s future schedule under the KPIs set by AMB, with the aim at maximise long-term profitability whilst safeguarding operational resilience and optimising easyJet’s strategic portfolio.
- Deliver in-depth analytical assessments for each critical schedule scenario linked to specific deliverables and/or company milestones, such as peak and shoulder week build and full season build. As a result you will identify and explore further analytical investigations and innovation mechanism to maximise profitability, balancing operational resilience and slot exposure.
- The Schedule Design scenarios constitute a vital element of RDF ( Route Development Forum ) and Schedule Planning Cycle. You will manage and deliver these processes within established timelines, whilst maintaining the Design function roadmap for initiatives and workstreams.
- Lead processes aimed at the innovation of the development of easyJet’s schedule design, including the adaptation of refined schedule planning methodologies, ways of working and tools ( e.g. SkySuite ).
- Drive data lead insights that model schedule scenarios; in particular they will establish, implement and maintain new and current data-tools as the foundation for schedule creation, whilst making sure a cross-departmental alignment is maintained.
- Work closely and effectively with other Leadership roles – in particular supporting the Research & Development, Delivery and Slot Policy counterparts in Scheduling, in order to guarantee continuous improvement and alignment with external stakeholders, whilst always aiming at maximising profitability.
- Develop and lead a diverse and high performing Scheduling Design team, including leading and encouraging innovation and creativity to ensure a disruptor mindset to future scheduling initiatives, such as Atlas and its adaptation.
- Drive initiatives aimed at keeping easyJet’s core values at the heartbeat of ways of workings, processes and people wellbeing. Work closely with the Leadership team, the Schedule Design Manager should champion behaviours, values and competencies throughout their internal and external collaborations.
What You Will Need To Do This Role
- Analytical and numerate with a excellent attention to detail.
- Organisation skills with a focus on delivery, often against challenging deadlines.
- Strategic thinking - able to consider the impact of multiple variables from a network base performance to operational resilience initiatives and challenges.
- Excellent communication and Presentation Skills.
- Excellent record in ownership and delivery of end-to-end projects/task with desirable agile methodologies and frameworks applications.
- A strong understanding of the data and the sources of data used in easyJet’s commercial and operational planning (internal and external).
- Remain calm under pressure and able to work constructively and collaboratively even when faced with demanding tasks or tight deadlines.
- A fast worker with a “can-do attitude” – the ability to strip problems back to their core, remove complexities, find and drive through simple solutions.
- Able to work well with colleagues across easyJet, strong interpersonal skills. Able to reduce conflict and drive solutions with buy-in from whom they are working with.
- Experience working across a range of airline / aviation functions with a desired deep understanding of Network, Operation and Scheduling.
- Previous people management experience, preferably in a development and delivery focussed role
- Strong leadership skills. Able to motivate, develop and drive high productivity from a team of analysts and planners.

Location & Hours of Work
We typically get together 3 times a week at our head office at Luton Airport.
