Head of Hey! business in Amadeus (Associate Director)

the ambition is still there and still relevant. Meanwhile, both the industry and the company context have changed considerably, and Amadeus is more deliberate and strategic about its future than ever.
We are now looking for our next
Head of Innovation with P&L responsibility for the Hey! incubation project.
Common Accountabilities
- Guides large, potentially diverse teams of Managers and/or Senior Managers within the Hey! incubation project.
- Strong understanding of industry and business. Defines a vision for the department in line with the global strategy and translates it into a concrete action plan. Provides input to functional or departmental strategy and assists the Director in the definition of the budget for the area.
- Manages organizational complexity, develops plans and delivers results in fast-changing businesses and complex environments.
Specific Accountabilities
Participate in the Innovation Strategy, accountable for Amadeus Hey! incubation success
- Research, track and analyze business/technology trends in innovative travel/IT companies.
- Deliver analysis papers articulating recommendations in terms of where/when/how Amadeus needs to innovate.
- Coordinate the preparation of an R&D innovation strategic plan.
Develop business relations with IT companies, universities, incubators, financial institutions to set out a strong innovation ecosystem
- Identify and develop initiatives to contribute to the ecosystem development with customers or 3rd party IT leaders within the scope of innovation initiatives.
- Coordinate the setting up of ecosystem contractual frameworks with corporate strategy, legal, finance and commercial organizations.
- Contribute to corporate programs to facilitate the development of an innovation ecosystem (e.g., Start-up and Venture Fund programs).
Lead innovation projects
- Lead some key innovation projects initiated internally or as part of co-innovation processes with customers/universities or external companies.
- Lead projects that enable innovation such as funding management through projects.
- Contribute to selection processes of strategic innovation projects to be incubated.
- Provide business planning and project marketing support to key innovation incubation initiatives.
- Oversee the implementation of key innovation deliverables (e.g., idea description, concept definition, prototype, feasibility study, business model, business plan).
- Encourage innovation across the company by initiating and driving key innovation internal and external events and deliver innovation marketing plans.
- Define and implement an innovation marketing plan with support of existing corporate marketing organization.
- Bring internal awareness on key innovation initiatives, projects and achievements carried out throughout Amadeus via ideation/brainstorming sessions, seminars, webinars, visits from external speakers, contests, challenges, Hackathons, Start-up weekends.
- Deliver innovation reports in order to support responses to RFPs/RFIs, requests initiated by internal organizations such as Finance/Investors Relations and EU Relations, pre-sales/sales teams.
- Manage and operate an innovation center/onsite and “on the road” showroom.
- Implement, share and continuously improve the innovation processes, best practices, initiatives and projects within the organization.
- Foster collaborative innovation and conduct creativity workshops or ideation sessions that generate new ideas and business opportunities.
Our Ideal Candidate
- experience in leading businesses in corporations, and/or entrepreneurial or start-up exposure
- experience in P&L management
- solid knowledge and exposure on sales and financial topics
- ability to operate in a complex environment with multiple internal and external stakeholders
