Position Summary
The Manager, Business Support will be responsible for managing the business support functions of our organisation. This includes overseeing all contracts, business permit applications, and government-related processes. The primary objective is to ensure that a strategic plan is developed and executed to effectively manage maintenance costs while maximising the possibilities for recoveries, claims, and mitigating waste, financial risks, and exposure on asset investment.
Key Accountability
- Develop and execute a strategic plan for managing business support functions, including contracts, business permit applications, and government-related processes.
- Provide management with vendor performance packages of active suppliers to maintain current approval and/or to take up non-performance to airframe/engine/system manufacturers for remedial actions on a regular basis.
- Review all existing Malaysia Airlines contracts, identifying all terms and conditions, service levels, remedies, etc.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all supplier management, contract management, and government-related processes.
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors/suppliers and serve as the singular point of contact for matters concerning contracts.
- Manage and maintain records for correspondence and documentation related to established contracts and those in progress.
- Co-ordinate regular meetings (quarterly, half-yearly, yearly) with suppliers based on their performance to review service levels and to map out continuous improvement plans.
- Support the Transformation program of the organisation as a whole.
- Provide cross-functional supports and integration with Group Procurement and Legal to enable the most cost-effective procurement process being implemented in compliance with the governance process.
- Develop strategic procurement policy for engineering maintenance department.
- Monitor contracts and move forward with close-out, extension, or renewal according to what’s best for the company.
- Solve any contract-related problems that may arise with other parties and internally with the company itself.
Qualifications & Working Experience
- Diploma or Bachelors degree / Professional Certification in Aviation Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Finance or relevant field.
- 7 years - with at least 3 years of experience in Aviation Industry (MRO)
