Position Summary
Support Manager Accident and Incident Investigation in the implementation of SMS across the organization, delivery of incident and accident investigation outcome, engaging / assigning of hazards and incident reports to respective BU SAP (Safety Anchor Person) and executing safety and operational risk management functions
Key Accountability
- Responsible in scrutinizing hazard/safety report received, allocation of specific risk level and responding to the reporter in order to ensure that all safety issues raised/reported are properly addressed and mitigated in the interest of enhancing safety.
- Responsible or conduct, coordinate and close out of safety Investigation depending on the risk level assigned to each incident as per company procedures, evaluating root cause, and ensuring that all correction actions recommended are implemented in order to prevent recurrence of similar occurrence.
- Responsible in the execution of hazard identification and risk management program through SRAC (Safety Risk Assessment Committee) initiatives in order to ensure that all reactive, proactive and predictive risks that exist within the organization are appropriately mitigated to as low as reasonably practicable, within the means of available/allocated resources.
- Responsible in monitoring and highlighting increasing trend in safety hazards and incidents or any deterioration of companywide safety performance to ensure timely and appropriate controls are put in place to eradicate or mitigate negative impact to the organization.
- Responsible in providing coordination and oversight of FRMS (Fatigue Risk Management System) program in identifying and resolving fatigue issues among employees that has potential impact to operational safety and efficiency.
Qualification & Working Experience
- Degree - Any discipline. Preferably with pilot qualification, Aircraft Maintenance Engineering or Safety-qualified professionals , or
- Diploma - Incident/accident investigator qualification or Human Factors and/or safety management system qualification or Tertiary qualifications are preferred, and
- 3 years working experience in Airline Safety Department (e.g Flight Safety Department or other safety units within the aviation fratenity)
Skill & Knowledge
- Able to conduct accident/incident investigation internally, assist external or state investigator and generate investigation reports in accordance to the procedures
- Able to perform effective risk management activities across the organization, in coordination with respective BU's Safety Anchor Person/ respective HOD
- Adequate knowledge in the implementation of Safety Management System, which includes safety policy development, risk management activities, safety assurance, and promotion.
- Good statistical analysis skill .
Key Challenges
- Inculcating safety and compliance behavior/culture among operational staff to minimize or avoid preventable incidents and accidents at work place.
- Occasionally required to work on weekends and holidays.
