Function: Engineering
Location: MRO – BLR
Reports to: AVP – Quality & Compliance Monitoring
Job Purpose
To lead organization-wide safety programs, strengthen operational risk controls, and ensure compliance with civil aviation safety regulations. Drives proactive safety culture, SMS effectiveness, and occupational health & safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise leadership on safety matters and manage SMS implementation.
- Facilitate hazard identification, risk assessments, and effectiveness monitoring of mitigations.
- Oversee safety investigations, reporting systems, and occurrence analysis.
- Maintain safety documentation, training programs, and safety review board updates.
- Coordinate with DGCA and other authorities for safety-related communication and audits.
- Investigate aircraft/engine incidents, recurring defects, and major delays in coordination with Quality Engineers.
- Manage occupational safety, environmental compliance, and OHSMS.
- Conduct safety audits, risk reviews, and accident/incident investigations.
- Authorize stop-work decisions in unsafe conditions.
- Lead workplace safety initiatives, BCP exercises, and legislation updates.
- Support reliability programs and contracted airline safety services.
- Coordinate cross-functional safety assessments and risk consolidation.
- Act as representative in the absence of AVP – Quality & Compliance Monitoring.

- Strong understanding of aviation safety regulations.
- Expertise in SMS, risk management, and safety investigations.
- Leadership, analytical ability, and documentation proficiency.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-coordination skills.
Education & Experience
- Engineering degree or equivalent.
- Significant experience in aviation safety, SMS, and regulatory compliance.
