The Assistant Manager – Crew Systems role supports the governance, configuration, and day-to-day effectiveness of crew management systems at IndiGo—primarily AIMS or other crew systems used by the airline. The role works closely with OCC, Crew Planning, Crew Tracking, and IT teams to ensure system accuracy, regulatory compliance, and smooth crew operations across the network.
This position is ideal for a hands-on professional with strong operational understanding of crew workflows and system logic, who can translate operational needs into system configurations and provide reliable support during both planned and disrupted operations.
Qualification & Experience:
- 7–10 years of experience in airline operations, OCC, crew management, or crew systems.
- Hands-on experience with AIMS or a comparable crew operations platform is essential.
- Experience working in a live OCC or time-critical operational environment.
- Graduate degree in Engineering, Aviation, Operations, or a related field preferred.
- Exposure to project implementation, system upgrades, or major operational changes is an advantage.
Key Skill Set and Competencies:
- Working knowledge of Crew Management Systems (AIMS, Jeppesen, Sabre, or similar).
- Good understanding of crew scheduling, rostering, tracking, and FDTL/FTL regulations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to diagnose system or process issues.
- High attention to detail and system discipline in a compliance-driven environment.
- Ability to work under pressure and support real-time operational decisions.
- Effective communication and coordination skills across multiple stakeholders.
- Basic understanding of vendor processes, SLAs, and defect management.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Crew System Support & Configuration
- Support day-to-day functioning of Crew Scheduling, Rostering, and Day-of-Ops systems (AIMS or equivalent).
- Execute system configurations aligned to crew policies, regulatory requirements, and operational changes.
- Monitor system health and report anomalies, defects, or performance issues.
- Assist in UAT, release testing, and post-deployment validation.
2. Operational Support & Process Adherence
- Provide system support to OCC, Crew Planning, and Crew Tracking teams during regular and disrupted operations.
- Ensure correct application of FDTL rules, company policies, and crew agreements within the system.
- Support adherence to defined SOPs, governance processes, and audit requirements.
- Identify operational pain points and suggest system or process improvements.
3. Crew Irregularity & Disruption Handling
- Support crew reassignments, duty changes, and exception handling during disruptions.
- Validate system recommendations during IRROPs and flag inconsistencies or risks.
- Assist in crew communication workflows related to roster changes and duty notifications.
4. Stakeholder Coordination
- Act as a point of contact between OCC users, Crew Management teams, and IT for system-related matters.
- Translate operational feedback into structured system enhancement or defect requests.
- Support regulatory inspections, internal audits, and data validation exercises when required.
5. Vendor & Defect Management Support
- Log, track, and follow up on system defects with the vendor and internal IT teams.
- Support SLA tracking, incident documentation, and root cause analysis.
- Coordinate with vendors during outages, hotfixes, or urgent operational issues.
6. Projects & Enhancements
- Support system changes related to fleet induction, network expansion, crew base changes, or policy updates.
- Assist in implementation of new system functionalities, reports, or automation tools.
- Participate in cross-functional projects related to crew digitalization or OCC system integration.
7. Knowledge Management & Capability Building
- Maintain system documentation, configuration records, and change logs.
- Build strong functional understanding of crew systems and operational logic.
- Support training and knowledge sharing for OCC and crew system users.
- Prepare for progressive responsibility in system ownership and governance roles.
